A 21-YEAR-old man faces a jail term after he was caught allegedly travelling at 109 km over the speed limit on the Calder Highway.

Not as uncommon as you would think. The media do not hear about all the "big" speeds, only a few every now and then.

Our local traffic guys had a 213km/h in a 110km/h Zone....

Next day they had a .318% Alcohol reading.....

Thats not bad for one week.......
FORCE, SERVICE and now nothing.....

240Kph on a Kawasaki Solo Nth H'way Tooleen 2002. Pleaded to Speed Dangerous and got a huge 1 year off the road!!

We seem to be getting quite a few in the 140 to 170 bracket recently (this year) with some rather large hits on the Ocean Road over Easter.

I can remember quite a few years ago a mate getting a 197 initially, then once he braked and did a u-turn zapped again and detected in the 220's with one of the first moving mode radars in a Hwy Task Force Q car up on the Sunrasia Hwy near the town of Speed strangely enough.

It took 25km to catch up with Mr Leadfoot.

Most would be unconscious at .300 and some would even be dead.

With a reading like that he/she must have been a seasoned alcoholic.
