Yellow BAII XR8 Slicktop - Bendigo TMU's latest toy as of late May. I was thinking how good an XR in that particular yellow woud look semi-marked, then I saw this one morning. I was happy :D

Oh, and it's the best sounding police vehicle ever when you get up it

Having been around for a while, I have a soft spot for yellow cars. Even though it is a ford, it does look pretty good and I think it would look even better as a fully marked unit. (Is there a mock up in the wings?) :?:

I see that the external mobile radar is stil being used....

Over here in WA we use the decatur mobile radar which sits on the dash to the right of the steering wheel...

VicPol use a few different mobile radar setups, Kustom KR10 or Silver Eagle mounted on the lightbar (marked cars only :D ), KR10 hanging off the rear window as shown (marked and unmarked), KR10 in the center of the dashboard (but not any more since they moved the lights there), or Silver Eagle in the corner of the windscreen (both unmarked).

There is a marked NSW yellow XR on a site from one of the photo contributors that looks really good.

OK, Back on topic, whilst also casting my memory back to "the olden days."

The Vic XC Falcon TOG (Canary) car was a great looking machine in its day.

Twin Bonnet Scoops (similar to the current Monaro) only setback further
Factory Dual Exhausts
One of the first model Police cars to have the roof bar twin blue lights and twin siren speakers - hence the nickname Double Bubble)
5.8 lt (351 c.i.) V8 that purred like a kitten
a big blue HF aerial hanging off the front bumper (back when bumper bars meant just that - a metal bar.
Hello, I'm from the Government. I'm here to assist
