History of Queanbeyan XR8 Marked Car

Postby cashie » Sun Apr 16, 2006 9:08 pm

I recently picked up an ex-NSW XR8 Marked Car.
I think it may have been an ex-Queanbeyan unit.
The Rego was ZHF-240.
Can anyone provide a bit of history on this vehicle?

The rego sounds vaguely familiar but I don't know of any BA XR8s that were based at Queanbeyan/Monaro (except for the two yellow Snowsafe XR8s but their regos don't match the one you have). I'll ask on another forum, should be able to find something out for you.

Did the car come with service books? Where was it serviced?

OK so far I've found out the car's callsign was Monaro 205. I'll keep you posted if I find out anything else.

Last time I saw it (early last year), it had no markings forward of the windscreen, so it had obviously been to the panel beaters. ZHF240 was replaced in Sept last year. The Monaro LAC vehicles tend to have a lot of ‘roo hits.

Cashie,
Your first problem is you actually bought a car that belonged to the cops and your second problem it is an XR8! Better it is an 8 as opposed to those XR6 things they give us!
